Front Row Remote Control – for Salling Clicker

Here is a script to use with Salling Clicker which will let you control Apple Front Row with your bluetooth mobile phone( it should work with most bluetooth phones – see above Salling link for compatibility details).

This script could be handy if you cant be bothered finding the apple remote control for Front Row, or if it has been chewed up by the dog.

In order to control Front Row from your Mobile Phone you need a few things first.

1 Download, install and pay for the excellent Salling Clicker for Mac OSX. Now install Salling Clicker in your mobile phone by going into System Preferences – Salling Clicker and clicking on “Set up Device”

2- install this Front Row script :
Open up Salling Clicker in System Preferences
You ‘ll see “Clicker items” and “Scripts” menu’s.
Just drag the file above ” FrontRowLite.cgz “ into the menu “box” named” Clicker items”.

In Salling Clicker 2 this puts it with all the other standard clicker items like iTunes in your phones “Accessories” menu.

With Salling Clicker 3 you will find Clicker is now a small Java application that you have permanently installed on your phone in “Applications”… much better as you dont have to press connect on your computer first. You just press connect on the phone, and so as long as your phone is connected to AddressBook you’ve always got Salling Clicker ready to go

3 Download and install Xkeys.

4 Open up Xkeys and choose your keyboard type, select the option when the F8 key is pressed…, then select launch the file/application and select “Front Row”. Close out of Xkeys.
Now when you press F8 Front Row should launch.

Now when you connect to your bluetooth Mac with your phone you can control iTunes, DVD player etc as well as Front Row!
The * key on your mobile phone now launches & quits Front Row!

Vegetarian Widget

Here’s my first widget that I have made for use with Dashboard in Mac OSX 10.4 (Tiger). It’s a simple vegetarian cookbook widget that has recipes under three categories , Entree, Main & Desserts. All recipes are also totally vegan.

Just click on the widget icon above to download it to your desktop. Then simply double click the downloaded zip file to open it, then doubleclick the widget file to install the vegetarian widget in Dashboard.

GarageBand Script – for Salling Clicker

Here is a script to use with Salling Clicker which will let you control Apple GarageBand with your bluetooth mobile phone( it should work with most Bluetooth phones – see above Salling link for compatibility details).

This script is especially helpful when you want to record something and you are in another room, relaxing and cant be bothered running back & forth to your Mac to press record & stop. Apart from just being a cool thing to show your friends, it’s also very useful too, as recording in another room takes you away from the noise of your computer therefore your sound quality will be much better.

To install this script :
